WASHINGTON — Sen. JD Vance suggested that it could be in Republicans’ best interest to threaten a government shutdown ahead of an impending funding deadline, asking, “Why have a government if it’s not a functioning government?” Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, made the remarks in an interview Wednesday on the Shawn Ryan Show.
